His music is described as modern rock with an interactive feel, lined with sharpened hooks that are sure to catch hungry listeners. This is the music of Lee Spoken.

The music has depth, driven by acoustic and electric guitar, and carrying a unique sound library of grinders, drills, hammers and other power tools. Lee has hands-on experience in the noisy world of industrial design and construction, and as a musician he began to recognize and appreciate the inherent musical qualities of his raw, cold machines. These 'acoustrial' sounds are used effectively in the 2004 release Drawn In, especially in the track Miles Away, and as interactive samples and loops in Lee's unplugged acoustic sets.

This is no novelty act, however; Drawn In is packed with the rich layers of sound, including Lee's triple part harmonies (as in Crash). A great deal of care has gone into the writing and production, and Lee's competence as a performer and as a producer are clearly evident.
