ApologetiX specializes in Biblical parodies of songs from the 1950's-90's. Based in Pittsburgh, the band has written over 300 parodies, including classic rock, alternative, Top 40, oldies and even a few country and rap songs. In 1994, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that parodies can be a "fair use" of an original, requiring no permission or royalties, thereby opening a big door for parodists like ApologetiX. The band's name comes from "apologetics", which means "the defense of the Christian faith."
